Winding

The Polytype winders are standardized with fully integrated drives and controls, including a dedicated PLC. As these units are stand-alone, it is very easy to integrate them into existing or third parties machines.

Our non-stop winders are optimized to splice at full machine speed up to 1’525 m/min (5’000 FPM). In addition, Polytype has developed a proprietary software to minimize the splice queue length, whatever the line speed is.

Thanks to a very accurate tension control, the Polytype winders can operate either with very thin and sensitive substrates (3.5 microns PET film, 5 microns Aluminum foil or non-woven) as well as with thick cardboard, foils or films. With the tension taper function, our customer can control very accurately the reel hardness at the rewind and avoid telescoping with slippery materials.

For high speed splicing, Polytype has developed a blow-off device to avoid double cut with critical substrates.

All these features allow our customers to maximize the productivity of their Polytype line.
